PORTRAIT & GLAMOUR GROUP

• Elevate the technical understanding of the members of PSSL on Portrait and Glamour photography – Portrait and glamour photography involve taking photographs of one or more people usually in a controlled environment. The first thought that comes to mind when discussing technical aspect of such a photoshoot is gear. It is important to know how our lights work, how modifiers can be used, and how your camera would behave in different shooting conditions. But it is equally important for a photographer to know how to engage a model, the importance of signing a model release, and the DOs and DON’Ts of posing a model.

• Elevate the aesthetic appreciation of the members of PSSL on Portrait and Glamour photography – Capturing the mood is the difference between a great portrait and another average picture of a person. Knowing when to use the gear we have at our disposal, using directional lighting to enhance the mood, and playing with shadows to create drama are just a few things to be considered in the aesthetic aspects of portrait and glamour photography.

• Create a welcoming space for all the members of PSSL to collaboratively grow in the art of Portrait and Glamour photography – We want this group to be a gender-neutral forum for all the PSSL Members to explore the art of portrait and glamour photography through collaborations, receive feedback on our work, and improve our ability to express our artistic visions as a group.
